This week we have been continuing our learning all about Bears through our book of the week, 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt.' In Literacy, the children have been retelling the story of the Bear Hunt in their own words using pictures from the book. In Maths, we have been looking at repeating patterns and using different objects to make our own repeating patterns. In our Understanding the World lesson we have been exploring the different types of bears and hibernation. In our PSED lesson, we have been learning about different emotions and how we can express them in a positive and healthy way. In Gymnastics this week, we used movement to recreate the story of 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt.'

We have been consolidating our learning in the following ways:

    - using keywords from the story to practise our letter formation

    - developing our fine motor skills whilst using tweezers to sort packing peanuts

    - making food for the bears in the sandpit

    - strengthening our observation skills by looking for autumn leaves

    - recreating the story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' in our small world tuff tray

    - enhancing our cutting and sticking skills to make our own scene from the story

    - putting numbered paw prints in order 0 to 10

    - exploring different stories about bears in the Bear Cave

    - furthering our creative skills by making a hibernation cave for an autumnal animal
