Foxes have had a lovely week of learning. We have been reading the story of 'Handa's Surprise' and discussing Africa and Exotic Fruit in our Understanding the World lessons. In Literacy, we have been drawing the fruit from the story and having a go at sounding out the names of the fruit. Maths has been particularly fun this week, looking at Repeating Patterns and using paint and apples to make our own repeating pattern. For Indoor PE this week, we looked at the benefits of stretching, having a go doing some Yoga poses and creating a calm mind. During our PSHE lesson, we looked at the importance of handwashing and preventing the spread of germs.

We have been embedding our learning in the following activities:

    - using our fine motor skills to cut and create fruit baskets

    - practising our letter formation of recently learnt sounds

    - developing our hand-eye coordination in the outdoor area by playing golf

    - building meaningful relationships in the sandpit

    - leaf hunting and using them to create our own autumn tree pictures

    - exploring turn-taking in our Handa's Surprise tuff tray

    - extending our oracy skills by asking what our favourite fruit is

    - creating sunset silhouettes of the animals from Handa's Surprise.
