This week our Foxes have been learning all about friendship. Our book of the week was 'The Things I Love About Friendship' and in Literacy, we have been looking at letter formation using our names. In Maths this week, we have been sorting different buttons into groups, looking at what is similar and what is different about them and how we can use that to make groups. In our Understanding the World lessons, we have been looking at the changing seasons and at Autumn in particular. We went on a scavenger hunt to find signs of Autumn and looked at the life cycle of an Oak Tree and what happens to it in Autumn. We have also been making self-portraits in Expressive Arts and Design using mirrors to look at our facial features.

We have also been doing the following activities during our exploring times:

    - making friendship bracelets for our friends

    - using our fine motor skills to piece puzzle bits into jewellery

    - expanding our imagination in the Reading Corner with books

    - developing our use of correctly and safely using small tools such as scissors

    - refining our gross motor muscles in the Castle Area

    - reading the new Gruffalo Granny together by Julia Donaldson

    - drawing and talking about the different parts of a tree

    - looking for oak seedlings and saplings in our outdoor classroom
