We’ve had a lovely, busy week in Deer Class!
In maths, we have been investigating geometric patterns and sequences, exploring both 2D and 3D shapes and spotting the rules that make patterns work.
In English, we have been working towards our big end‑of‑unit writing piece. The children designed their own dragons and rewrote parts of the story Zog it was wonderful to see their imaginative ideas coming to life on the page.
In DT, we have been exploring pop‑up picture books and learning how their mechanisms work. We even made our own slider mechanism, inspired by the Gingerbread Man running away and trying not to get eaten!
In country dancing, we’ve learnt a brand‑new dance to Cotton Eye Joe a fast, lively routine that the children have loved. And I’m sure you’ll be delighted to hear… this is the dance parents get to join in with!
We’ve been working incredibly hard this week, and the children should feel very proud of themselves.
