Our Owls have had an action-packed first week back after the May half term!
We started our week by going on our school trip to the Look Out Discovery Centre in Bracknell. The children enjoyed learning about bugs and beasts and got a chance to have an encounter with stick insects, meeting a corn snake and a chameleon! We also had a wonderful opportunity to explore the different interactive stations in the centre. What an amazing trip!
This term, our topic is 'Charming coastlines', where we will be exploring sea sides. This week, we used maps to locate our local seaside towns.
In English, we read the story 'The Lighthouse keeper's lunch'. The children loved this class story! We used the story as an opportunity to learn how to use speech marks to mark direct speech.
In Maths this week, our Owls used their knowledge to work out tens and ones in a number. We even had a go at making groups of 10's as a whole class!
In R.E, we have been learning about moments of reflection and why people pray. We then wrote down something that we are thankful for on whiteboards and shared this with the class.
In P.E, we are practising the skills needed for our upcoming sports day. We have been practising how to sprint in a sprinting race. Well done Owls!
