This week in Owl class we have been exploring position and direction in our maths lessons. We have been carrying out practical activities on our school playground, giving our friends instructions on how to get to a 3D shape! The children had to use positional language such as above, below, forwards and backwards!
In English this week we read the story 'Dear Chocosaur'. The children loved the story all about a T-rex who loves to eat chocolate! We also wrote some incredible fact files on a Chocosaur and this is now in our class library to view and read with others.
In History, we ended our 'Dinosaur discovery' topic by finding out all about Mary Anning' a famous fossil hunter! She found many fossils which has helped people all over the world know a lot of information about dinosaurs.
In our Art lessons, we have been learning our skills of printing using a squeegee, following the artist of Dan Mather and Andy Warhol.
For our last Forest School session, the children were very lucky to explore and toast their own marshmallows on a fire! Our Forest School leader discussed how to keep safe from camp fires and was a real treat to end their session for this academic year!
In our Science lessons, Owls got the chance to act out the role of a palaeontologist! Some dinosaurs were buried deep in 'rock' and we had the chance to excavate! Well done Owls!
