What an exciting week our lovely Foxes have had learning all about farm animals and the signs of spring. In Literacy, our book of the week is 'Mr Gumpy's Outing' and we have added some lovely descriptive words to our ever-growing word bank. The children have also been drawing and writing the names of farm animals from the story. In our Maths lessons we have been 'Subitising Superheroes', recognising dots as numbers without counting! In our art lessons this week, we have been exploring the work of Wassily Kandinsky and having a go at using colour theory and shapes to make our own interpretations. In Understanding the World, the Foxes have been learning all about spring animals, and looking in particular at the lifecycle of a chicken.

It has been a busy week expanding our little Foxes' minds.

During exploring time, we carried out the following activities:

-Using our small world farm sets to create our own farms

-Using collage to make our own lucky shamrocks for St Patrick's Day

-Exploring water play in the sunshine

-Expanding our knowledge of vets in our Veterinary Surgery role-play area

-Exploring farm-linked books in our reading areas.
