What a wet week it has been! Our Foxes have remained resilient and continued to have fun regardless of the weather. This week on our topic of Pirates, we have been focusing on pirate ships. We have been reading the book 'On a Pirate Ship' in Literacy and using our phonics skills to write sentences about what they could see in a picture from the book. In our Understanding the World sessions, we have been labelling the different parts of a pirate ship and also looking at Internet Safety when using iPads, computers, laptops, phones etc. In Maths this week, we have been looking at numerical patterns such as doubling and even extending our learning through looking at odds and evens. In Forest School, we have been using our core muscles to help us on a rope swing and climb trees, as well as building a shelter from the rain. 

We have been consolidating our learning through the following activities:

- Using our fine motor skills to roll paper into telescopes

- Being creative with paint to make the bow of our pirate ship

- Refining our fine motor skills when using different materials to make parrots

- Developing our imaginations in the Foxes Galleon, our pirate role-play area

- Extending our understanding of doubles by using paint to make ladybird spots

- Using our phonics skills to label ships and our letter formation skills to practise writing capitals.
