Wow! Our Spring Term is complete!
This week, our Foxes have explored Easter and why people celebrate it. Our book of the week is 'Baby Bunny's Easter Surprise' hopping alongside 'The Easter Story.' During our literacy sessions, the children have been sounding out and writing different words to do with Easter. In Understanding the World, we have been exploring The Easter Story and how people from all around the world celebrate Easter. During our Maths sessions, the children have been exploring 3D shapes such as cubes, cuboids, spheres, cones and cylinders and seeing if they can spot any in the classroom. We rounded off the week with a fun Hot Cross Bun taste test, using our senses to describe how they smelt and tasted, as well as discussing why people eat Hot Cross Buns.
Exploring time activities as follows:
-Using a variety of materials to create some Easter-themed crafts
-Writing words based around Easter
-Enhancing our fine motor skills by weaving paper
-Developing our skills at changing clothes while dressing up
-Using water to hatch a chick and watch as it grows during the week
-Using our Oracy skills during our Pics and Tell sessions based on Spring
-We also had a very special Easter egg hunt in our outdoor area using our observation skills to spot the eggs.
