This week, our Foxes have been learning about the story of The Gruffalo. In Literacy, we have been practising to label different parts of a Gruffalo. In Maths, we have been learning all about numbers nine and ten and their compositions. Outside, we have been building our own model houses and looking for signs of spring. For Pics and Tell, many children were eager to talk to us about what they did during the half-term break. This was a fantastic way to expand their Oracy skills and develop their language skills. This week, we also visited Bekonscot Model Village in Beaconsfield. We enjoyed an amazing workshop all about Richard Callingham and his love of model trains, and of how the model village has changed over the past 97 years since it had been built! We also had a memorable experience observing the small shops and spaces that were built so many years ago! Well done Foxes!
During exploring time, we have been carrying out the following activities:
-Using our fine motor skills in the sandpit and building with Duplo
-Carrying out role-play activities in our Gruffalo Cave
-Using magnets and gems to show numbers nine and ten in a ten frame
-Looking for ladybirds and counting their spots
-Sharing and talking about all the exciting activities we have been doing during half-term.
