I hope everyone managed to enjoy a well‑deserved rest over the half-term. It’s only our first week back, but Deer Class has certainly hit the ground running! We’ve packed a lot into the last few days, and the children have shown fantastic enthusiasm in every area of their learning.
In English, we rounded off our Roald Dahl topic with an exciting visit to the Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden. The children loved exploring the exhibits, learning more about Dahl’s life, and seeing the places that inspired some of his most famous stories. It was a brilliant way to bring our unit to life and spark even more curiosity about reading and writing.
In Maths, we’ve begun our new statistics topic. This week we focused on tally charts, collecting data, and creating pictograms. The class enjoyed carrying out their own mini‑surveys and turning their findings into clear visual representations. It’s been great to see them making connections between real‑life information and mathematical skills.
We also made the most of the sunny weather by taking our handwriting practice outdoors.
