This week, we have been learning about our book of the week 'Town Mouse Country Mouse'. We have been building our vocabulary and have been learning about words such as 'fable' and 'prey'. In our Understanding the World sessions, we have been exploring the differences between towns and countries. In Maths, we have been learning about addition and having a go at practical activities to help us. During our Forest school sessions, our lovely Foxes had a wonderful time exploring our Bluebell Woods. We carried out activities such as bug hunting, potion making and looking out for signs of Winter with our pretend cameras! For Literacy, we used our phonics skills to write down our favourite fruit/vegetables. For PSHE we learnt about the Green Cross Code and how to stay safe when crossing a road.
For our Understanding the World session, Fox Class went for a walk to our local Jordans Village Shop. This helped the children learn about our local area, comparing towns and villages and having the opportunity to buy a piece of fruit!
We also have been carrying out many activities to enhance our skills during exploring time such as:
-Using a variety of resources to help our fine motor skills on our 'Funky Fingers' Mornings.
-Enhancing our cutting skills by making puppets and masks linked to our story.
-Exploring our reading area and finding the difference between fiction and non-fiction texts.
-Developing our Oracy skills through our Pics and Tell sessions.
-Reading with an adult whilst improving our phonics skills.
