Deer Class had a most exciting adventure on Thursday when we travelled to London to visit St Paul's Cathedral! We learnt more about the Great Fire of London and how the original St Paul's was destroyed. Our guide told us about the people who were responsible for designing and rebuilding the cathedral. This included Sir Christopher Wren, Jean Tijou and Jane Brewer. Did you know that King Charles II was so fond of pineapples that he insisted on having golden pineapples made for the spires? The best part of the day was laying down on our backs and gazing up at the inside of the magnificent dome.
In other news this week.....we investigated the different types of money that we use in the U.K. The children began by sorting coins and notes and went on to add together selections of coins and notes.
In science, we tried to change the shape of various materials by twisting, bending, squashing and pulling them.
In our yoga lesson we practised stretching and bending while on all fours. We then learnt some new poses and worked with a partner to mirror each other.
