5th October

We will be exploring the /ee/ sound this week and looking at the alternative spellings.  The video link below goes through the alternative spellings of this sound.

You could explore the different spellings at home when reading with your child.  If you come across any words with the long 'e' sound in them, write them on a card.  When you have collected several words, sort them into the different ways the /ee/ sound has been spelt.

Or ask your child to find an object in the house with the /ee/ sound in it.  Help your child to write the word and work out which /ee/ spelling it uses.

This week's Common exception words are:

Yr 1 CEWs: come, some, one, once, love

Yr 2 CEWs: could, would, should
